The location and views from the hotel can't

Be beat. We were treated to amazing views right from our room, and the outdoor dining experience was good. I did notice that some pathways could use a bit of maintenance, which detracted slightly from the overall experience.

I was utterly surprised by the few bugs in my room, totally ruins any tropical charm. And can we talk about the lack of sufficient seating? I almost considered writing a glowing review, but the fact that no one thought to upgrade my stay just left me feeling, well, so unimportant.

Wildlife at Every Turn

My partner and I were thrilled to spot monkeys frolicking outside our Matapalo Suite. The hotel's fine design and lush surroundings.

Unfortunately, we had to deal with a few insects in our room, a little distracting. Service was excellent, but the bugs added an element of surprise that wasn't ideal.

The attentive staff, and breakfast overlooking the rainforest was an lovely treat. Make sure to explore nearby hiking trails for a taste of local wildlife. Truly a peaceful retreat!

100% recommend for a weekend getaway

Fine views, delicious breakfast, perfect location, made our stay lovely with morning meals overlooking the lush rainforest and easy access to a nearby airstrip for a short flight from San Jose.

Nothing to dislike

The kids had a blast ziplining through the jungle while the adults relaxed by our luxurious bungalow. Exploring nearby beaches and opportunities for snorkeling made for some lovely memories with my son's family.

My wife says that an on-site kids' club would be great.

The jungle location of this hotel is fine, with amazing views and abundant wildlife. The hotel facilities were great, especially the outdoor showers and private bungalow terraces. The staff was friendly to my needs. The food was also amazing, with a variety of options for breakfast.

Staying in a jungle paradise was just what we needed, with animals all around. the fresh, homemade food was amazing, and I don't think we've ever slept so soundly in any other hotel. the outdoor shower was a treat, while the coffee delivery every morning made our day. the view from the terrace is simply breathtaking, with the sounds of nature always filling the air. the guides on the tours were helpful and knowledgeable, making our nature experience even more memorable.

It was unfortunate that the staff wasn't always aware of our dietary needs, but the food was still great.

This place is like being in a dream. You are surrounded by nature, can hear the sounds of the animals, and see beautiful waterfalls. the food is amazing and the staff is friendly. the location is perfect - secluded enough to feel like you are in your own world, but close enough to town to grab essentials if needed. We loved that they offered guided tours and had a private beach to enjoy.

The price was very high and we felt like we didn't get a lot for what we paid. the pool was small and overcrowded, and the waitstaff could be slow at times.
